About Christine Koppe
As an LCSW therapist (a therapist licensed as a clinic social worker), I have over 20 years of experience helping people cope with life stressors. My clients have described me as warm, caring, and empathetic.
I have spent many years working in inner-city mental health clinics, hospitals, and out-patient treatment centers. These experiences have taught me many different techniques, including interpersonal, solution focused, cognitive-behavioral, and mindfulness-based techniques.
Most importantly, I have grown to appreciate how difficult it is for someone to take the first step of asking for help. In response, I have developed an approach to ease new clients into the therapeutic experience. I also value collaboration. I tailor my approach to each client’s needs as they achieve a greater understanding of the challenges that they face and develop greater meaning in their lives. Â
My goal is to be a compassionate listener while providing clients the essential tools needed to help meet their therapeutic goals. I have extensive background in the areas of mood disorders, trauma, crisis, anxiety, and anger management, affirmative counseling/LGBT counseling (as a LGBT ally), and psychotic disorders.
